In 2022, in the spirit of the Government's Resolution 128 "Safely adapting, flexibly and effectively controlling the COVID-19 epidemic", the whole society and the tourism industry accept to live with the epidemic context but will proactively and safely adapt, which means that socio-economic activities will take place normally. Therefore, 2022 is forecasted to be the landmark year of Vietnam's tourism.

Target in 2022, the tourism industry strives to welcome 65 million tourists, of which about 5 million international visitors, domestic tourists reach about 60 million visitors, total revenue from tourists reaches 400 trillion. To accomplish that goal, the tourism industry will continue to research and advise on policies to support businesses and workers in the tourism industry to overcome difficulties caused by the impact of the pandemic and quickly recover operations. Complete the tourism system planning for the period 2021 - 2030, with a vision to 2045, report to the leadership of the Ministry, submit to the Government for approval and organize the implementation.

In addition, the tourism industry will also implement the tourism development and recovery program in the socio-economic recovery and development program for the period 2022-2023 under the direction of the leaders of the Ministry of Culture. Sports and Tourism. At the same time, continue to improve the effectiveness and efficiency of destination management, travel business, tourist accommodation establishments; tourism statistics; ministerial-level scientific research tasks; environmental duties and standards development tasks.

The tourism industry also gives messages for businesses to respond and follow. For domestic tourism, launch the program "Safe travel - Full experience". For international tourism, the tourism industry gives the message "Live Fully in Vietnam". This message creates a very positive effect when visitors see that Vietnam is still optimistic, trusting, developing tourism safely, experiencing it fully. Along with that, it is necessary to strengthen communication, promote domestic and foreign tourism, towards target markets, contributing to the rapid recovery and development of tourism in the new context.
