According to the General Department of Tourism in previous years, the number of international tourists to Vietnam increased from 7.9 million to over 18 million; Domestic visitors increased from 57 million to more than 85 million; total revenue from tourism increased from 355 trillion VND to 755 trillion VND. However, the activities of tourists and residential communities also partly cause negative impacts on the tourism environment. Therefore, protecting the tourism environment is identified as an important and urgent task for all levels, sectors, especially key tourism localities, in order to contribute to promoting Vietnamese tourism.
