Launching environmental protection in tourism activities in 2020

Recently, the General Department of Tourism (Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism) held a launching ceremony to protect the environment in tourism activities in the city. Nha Trang. It is known that this is an activity aimed at implementing the tasks assigned by the Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism, and practically responding to the revised Law on Environmental Protection recently passed by the 14th National Assembly. Over the past years, Vietnam's tourism has become an important economic sector, having a strong impact on all sectors and fields of social life. Identifying the important role of tourism, the Politburo issued Resolution No. 08-NQ / TW dated January 16, 2017 on developing tourism to become a key economic sector. 

According to the General Department of Tourism in previous years, the number of international tourists to Vietnam increased from 7.9 million to over 18 million; Domestic visitors increased from 57 million to more than 85 million; total revenue from tourism increased from 355 trillion VND to 755 trillion VND. However, the activities of tourists and residential communities also partly cause negative impacts on the tourism environment. Therefore, protecting the tourism environment is identified as an important and urgent task for all levels, sectors, especially key tourism localities, in order to contribute to promoting Vietnamese tourism. The South develops in a sustainable direction.
