Director of the Center for Ecology, Culture and History of War Zone D (under the Conservation Area) Nguyen Van Ha said that Tri An Lake is located within the administrative boundaries of the districts of Vinh Cuu, Trang Bom, Thong Nhat and Dinh Quan. The lake was formed in 1984 with an area of over 32,000 hectares and became the largest artificial lake in Vietnam.

Tri An Lake is one of the three core areas of the Dong Nai World Biosphere Reserve recognized by UNESCO in 2011. The lake has been approved by the Prime Minister for the planning of inland waters and is a national tourist destination.

“The lake has multiple purposes such as: supplying water for Tri An Hydropower Plant; provide clean water for people living in Bien Hoa City, Ho Chi Minh City and Binh Duong province; serving the conservation and development of aquatic resources and another important function is the development of eco-tourism on the lake bed "- Mr. Ha said.

Tri An Lake has a very rich and diverse tourism potential. On the lake, there are 76 large and small islands and become one of the highlights for the development of tourism. Vast waves, undulating hills, charming scenery, friendly and hospitable people. Tourists can stop camping on O island, Dong Truong island with fresh air and all kinds of fruits such as rambutan, durian, avocado, jackfruit... Visitors are free to drop their souls into nature and enjoy delicious, clean fruits picked by my own hands.

Besides, visitors to Tri An Lake will have a wonderful experience of being floating on the lake bed when the sun has not yet risen or when the sunset falls to feel the immensity, romantic and poetic scenery. . "Another interesting thing is to stay overnight on the lake, just go down the boat to float on the water under the silver moon in the coolness of the night breezes" - Mr. Ha shared.

According to Mr. Ha, over the past time, the reserve has built tourism development programs on Tri An lake such as: building tours, exploiting routes to promote tourism images at the lake as well as introduce to tourists. within and outside the province. The unit also invests in equipment and facilities (ships, boats...) as well as services provided to tourists. Up to this point, the lake is an attractive tourist destination and is highly appreciated by tourists from near and far.

Orientation for tourism development of Tri An lake in the coming time, the reserve identifies a number of key tasks such as continuing to invest in upgrading tourism services and exploiting tours on the lake bed. At the same time, the unit will invite investors to build projects to develop tourism types such as resort, camping, visiting islands and some types of sports experience on the lake; strengthen the promotion of tourism image of the lake in particular as well as tourism of the Nature Reserve in general.
