Chau Ma people in Dong Nai live mainly in Hiep Nghia hamlet in Dinh Quan town, and Ta Lai in Tan Phu district, in other communes such as Phu Son, Phu Binh ... are also quite crowded. During the year, Chau Ma people have many rituals, of which the Yang Koi ritual is considered the largest ceremony of the year.

After the ceremony, everyone enjoyed the party together, the young men and women Ma danced and sang, the old people gathered to drink Can wine and sing to tell each other about their community. They made a fire, sang and danced until morning. Through many changes, although the scale and rituals have been simpler than before, the Yang Koi ritual is still maintained to show cultural beauty in the spiritual life of the Chau Ma people.

To perform the ritual, the Ma people erect about three trees in front of the yard in a triangular shape. Big bamboo trees are used to tie buffaloes, small trees to tie goats or pigs or cows. On the trees, the Ma divided into many steps to decorate. According to their conception, the tree above mentioned straight up to the sky represents gods, in the middle is the ancestor and the bottom is human. On the trees, they created twisted bamboo flowers in clusters, representing large rice cotton. The two colors blue and red are used mainly in decoration with the concept that red is the blood of an animal that is sacrificed to the gods, and the blue color wishes for green crops. Under the tree, it is usual to store the needles that each Ma family makes.
