Learn about Ma and X'tieng Villages in Cat Tien National Park

Cat Tien National Park is inherently associated with the lives of indigenous people, especially the Ma and Stieng people who have long lived in Ta Lai area. Ta Lai village is located in Ta Lai commune, Tan Phu district, Dong Nai province, in the buffer zone of Cat Tien National Park. This is also a construction project that is built to properly simulate the daily life of ethnic minorities. The long house is one of the key activities of the community tourism development program in Cat Tien National Park. There are quite a few Ma and X'tieng people living here. The Ma and X'tieng people have quite unique cultural features in the process of survival associated with the mountainous area of the Southeast region, cultural values still retain quite unique customs and practices such as: : buffalo stabbing festival, brocade weaving, the art of performing gongs, the system of indigenous knowledge of the Ma and X'tieng people in natural exploitation...

From the headquarters of Cat Tien National Park, visitors will be able to pass through planted forests, and successive lawns, where at night herbivores often appear. If you take a canoe along the Dong Nai River, you will see the beautiful scenery on both sides of the river and the daily activities of the people living along the banks. Visitors can visit the Ta Lai Ethnic Culture House, where the ancient relics of the Ma and Stieng ethnic groups are kept. Then, visit the Long House located on a hill, and walk around the village to interact and learn more about the daily life and farming of the people here.

Ta Lai's strength is its traditional culture and is based on the forest, so the community tourism products here are quite diverse. When coming here, tourists can walk to visit Chau Ma ethnic village in Hamlet 4, school, cultural house and traditional room, suspension bridge and Ta Lai Prison monument. In addition, tourists can also participate in productive labor activities with local people (rice cultivation); or learn about brocade weaving with beautiful and colorful patterns, flowers, birds or knitting, blacksmithing, and cultural exchanges, local cuisine.
