Since the beginning of 2022 for the tourism industry after a long time being severely affected by the impact of the Covid-19 epidemic, the tourism industry has welcomed and served about 6.1 million domestic visitors, including 3.2 million turns of guests staying overnight at tourist accommodation establishments; total revenue from tourists is estimated at more than 25 trillion VND.

During the 9 days of Tet holiday, the number of domestic tourists has exceeded the number of visitors in December 2021 (5.2 million arrivals) and is not much less than the number of domestic tourists in January 2020 (7.3 million arrivals) - the period before the Covid-19 epidemic. Some destinations have a sudden increase in the number of visitors, exceeding or approaching the number of visitors on the occasion of the New Year of the Rat 2020.
A number of large tourism enterprises such as Vietravel, Saigontourist, Fiditour... recorded a lot of positive information when the number of customers ordering tours with the trend closer to the time from 2 to 4 days is quite large. The number of visitors is mainly from the city market. In Ho Chi Minh City, guests are more confident and optimistic about disease control, so they decided to go on a trip.

Regarding the opening schedule to welcome international tourists, the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism continues to propose a pilot phase to welcome international tourists in phase 2 from now until March 30, 2022 and from March 31, 2022 will fully open international tourism activities, welcome international tourists to Vietnam (inbound) and take tourists abroad (outbound) through all international border gates.

The positive results for the tourism industry right in the first days of the Lunar New Year are obtained from the drastic and close direction of the Government, the Prime Minister, the efforts of the tourism management agency from from central to local to localities, destinations and businesses in the context of large-scale vaccine coverage, creating a comfortable and optimistic psychology for tourists. Promising a new year, the tourism industry will recover strongly, affirming its position as an important economic sector of the country.
