Vietnam suspends medical declaration at all border gates

From 0:00 on April 27, Vietnam temporarily suspends medical declaration at border gates for people entering the country. The Ministry of Health has issued an express document No. 2118/BYT-DP on the temporary suspension of the application of medical declaration for COVID-19. According to the Ministry of Health, currently COVID-19 has been recorded in most countries around the world. The disease has a vaccine that is effective and effective against the currently circulating SARS-CoV-2 virus strains.

Currently, the epidemic situation has tended to reduce both the number of cases and deaths on a global scale. In Vietnam, COVID-19 has been controlled nationwide with a high rate of vaccine coverage.

Pursuant to the COVID-19 epidemic situation and the Government's Decree No. 89/2018/ND-CP dated June 25, 2018 detailing the implementation of a number of articles of the Law on Prevention and Control of Infectious Diseases on medical quarantine border, the Ministry of Health proposes the People's Committee of the province/city to direct relevant agencies to implement the following contents:
1. Suspend the application of medical declaration for COVID-19 at all border gates of Vietnam for people entering Vietnam from 00:00 on April 27, 2022.
2. Maintain supervision of passengers on entry at border gates in accordance with the Government's Decree No. 89/2018/ND-CP dated June 25, 2018 detailing the implementation of a number of articles of the Law on Prevention, combating infectious diseases on border health quarantine.
3. Actively update communication materials and recommendations for COVID-19 prevention and control in accordance with the current situation and proactively report in a timely manner.
The Ministry of Health continues to update and provide information on the epidemic situation in the world and in the country to take appropriate epidemic prevention measures.
